A movie that may have been under your radar…

From time to time, we’ll be offering up our thoughts on recently seen movies, or music we enjoy, as Greg did with the Sigur Ros post earlier this month. Greg and his wife were the first we knew to see Once, and they’ve been telling everyone to see it. And with good reason…it has a great soundtrack, smart character driven story, and has one of the best acting jobs I’ve seen in the last couple years, and accomplished by two non-actors, Glen Hansard of The Frames and singer Marketa Irglova. It’s a simple story of a section of several days where a Guy and a Girl work through their past loves and struggles, and reveal their budding love for one another through their songs. Sounds mushy, but well done.

I loved this movie – saw it last month. The “guy” was in The Commitments – another cool musical movie. The characters are so authentic – my kind of flick. Thanks for spreading the word. I recommend watching it while sitting on your modern sofa like I did… makes it even better somehow.
