A new year and hopefully a new economy.

With the fall of major corporations and the porn industry asking for a bailout we really believe that there we be good that comes out of our economic downturn.  Was it greed that put us where we are?  Crappy design, overpriced materials, over sized homes, excess, excess, excess………….Our hopes and prayers are that this time in our lives this is just a BIG correction.  It is a time to downsize and conserve, but that does not mean that we stop spending.  The difference is that people (we hope) will demand good design, quality product, better thought out spaces, and sustainability.  That being said, there are two web blogs that we often frequent that always seem to boost our design spirits.  The first is the Calgary Alberta Canada Based Slow Home.  With architect John Brown’s Slow Home Reports, video interviews, and projects, the Slow Home Movement hits the mark.  Below is a sample video from the Slow Home sit.

The other site that we enjoy and we get email notifications on is Eye CandyEric Morehouse started by doing a weekly email of architecture sites that he finds intriguing.  Eric now has a blog, making it easy to go back and look at previous images whenever the need or want arises.  Here are some sample pictures from his blog:
