Bruce Brandit’s “World Builder”
The movie was completed in 2007, but has just recently become very popular int he last month, quickly spreading across the internet. Working on a budget of around $2000 and a volunteering cast and crew, Bruce Branit and his cinematographer brother shot the live action sequences in a day. Of course the time consuming part was the amount of computer generated effects, which Branit completed using Lightwave 3D over the span of two years.
We obviously love the short film and it leaves us wondering, half jokingly, if we’re seeing the Sketchup of the future.
You may have also seen another Branit co-created short film in 2000, in 405, where a SUV meets up with a commercial airline.
