For the iPhone crowd:

I finally signed up for a mapmyride.com account, well because, I’ve finally become serious about commuting to work by bicycle.  I bought my first road bike about a week ago, after a series of underused mountain and comfort bikes.  Greg’s been commuting on his single speed for awhile now, so I’ve got some catching up to do.

Anyways if you’re an avid rider, you probably already know about mapmyride.com, it lets you easily enter your bike rides and keeps record of them, including the distances and time it took.  Well they now have an app for the iPhone, iMapMyRide.  This new application, powered by MapMyFitness, is able to track total time, total distance, pace, average speed, and then uploads everything to the mapmyride.com account that you have set up.

Using the gps built into the iPhone, you’re able to see the map of the path you took on your ride.  Below is my latest ride, which is short because of another flat tire.  Which hopefully won’t happen again because of my newly purchased Hutchinson Fusion 2 Kevlar tires.

And it’s free, so you can save your money for those costly important apps like, iguitar.
