friday video: smack nightclub
We’ve been wanting to post this video since we came across it on Monday. Smack Nightclub is located in Leamington Spa, Warwickshire, UK and they’ve gotten some great publicity because of the new LED room seen in the video above. We haven’t been able to find much information about the specifics of the setup, such as cost or designer, but assume it’s caused quite the stir in the night life of Leamington Spa. Of course some of the display can be considered a bit cheesy, but for the most part it is a pretty fantastic element, one that can continuously change with the music or can transform the space slowly, fading from one color to another. We’ve seen a few other examples of nightclubs that use digitally controlled LED lighting systems, but think this is one of the best we’ve seen and are left wondering how it’s use will spread in the states. Does anyone know of any establishments near them using this technology? Or does anyone know more about this particular one?

If it’s anything like how it was when I was a student at the nearby Warwick University, it’s the worst place on Earth.
This is pretty cool – Epileptic fit heaven
Looks like a really happening bar with all those people dancing. SNAP
