Samuel Mockbes died on December 30th, 2001 from complications resulting from his battle with leukemia. Before his untimely death, he co-founded the Auburn University Rural Studio program in Hale County, Alabama.
The Snakebit Film is a documentary about Samuel Mockbee and the continued vision and spirit of the Rural Studio.

We got to see the rough cut of the film, and it’s pretty good!
