We have a new home design that we are working on and thought it might be nice to show the design process from start to finish.  Our hope is to show the process “we” use to come up with a design for a new home.  Our goal is to post something at least once a week with an update for what has been happening with the project.

The first thing we need to do is to set the stage.  The clients own a beautiful 75′ X 400′ piece of land on the intracoastal waterway.  The site is unusual because it is so deep.  The clients want to build a home that they can enjoy now as well as retire in later down the road.  There are very specific wants and needs that we will discuss later.

After several meetings with the clients and trying to determine what their likes and dislikes were by looking at various pictures from books and magazines, we were ready to start with some massing on the site.  From the survey we determined the set backs so that we understood the restrictions to the footprint.
