Our friend Chris of Moulder Inc. from Atlanta is down in Jacksonville for Christmas and brought a lighting installation for his Mom’s front yard.  7500 Christmas lights and about 400 ft. lbs. of pulley torque and this is what you get.  Chris built the installation in his Atlanta shop and transported it down last week for the installation.  The compound form was created entirely by hand with no computer aid.  Lights that took away from the overall design are dipped with plastic coat to keep them from showing up once darkness comes.  Chris and I had some fun last night playing with camera exposures and angles.  I hope this little gallery gives you an idea of the scale of this thing.  If you are in Jacksonville and would like to do a drive by to see it for yourself the address is 4107 Torino Place in Venetia 32244.  After Christmas Chris is going to try to install the sculpture over the rail tracks next to his studio at the Telephone Factory Lofts in Atlanta.  If he can get it installed in Atlanta we will let you know.  For now enjoy the shots from last night.
