David,

I've sent you an email to the address you provided, although I'm not sure if that one would actually go through or not.

You can always submit for a facelift, either commercial or residential at the following link:

Thanks,

Marc,

We're very familiar with Sketchup, its the same program we're using for these Urban Facelift Projects. We'd love to see what you've been able to do with Sketchup and if it's feasible we could possibly post it as a UFP contribution.

Just email to info@contentdg.com.

Thanks!

I have used a program available from Google called Sketchup to create 3Drenderings of buildings including our home in Springfield and a property at Pearl and 6th which I think would make a marvelous Bistro/Pub. The program really helped us to get a sense of how the finished buildings would look both inside and out.

Would be please to share the drawings.

Greg,
This is very grass roots. We just started so we will see what this thing morphs into. We would like these images to start people talking about what rundown buildings in Jacksonville could be. We figured this was a way that we could put our money where our mouth is, and since we have no money we are using our talents. We have been following your work ever since you were The Nice Modernist and we are looking forward to seeing the first Urban Facelift Project New Jersey.

I think these Urban Facelift projects have the potential to be real catalysts to open the lines of communication between developers, architects, the community and city officials. There is a severe lack of dialogue between these groups that ultimately leads to buildings like the ones you see everywhere in jacksonville. They are a 'florida style', but "no style" at the same time. It's very frustrating as a designer/architect to sit in a room with a client who honestly thinks that the "latest" stuff is what the other guy did down the road with his "strip mall". bravo. I've just chosen the building that I'll "face lift". So look out for it in next couple days.
