This past summer, the city of Eindoven, Netherlands hosted a 100 day bike extravaganza.  Here is a  quote from Expatica.com describing the event:

22  June – 5 October
This summer the bike is the main focus in the city of Eindhoven, celebrating the strong Dutch connection with their favorite method of transport. From the 22 June until the 5 October the exposition ‘De Nederlandse fiets’ (The Dutch bike) will be shown in the Designhuis, exhibiting the bike in all its forms, from its daily use to its artistic representation. The exhibition will be opened 22 June in the Designhuis at Stadhuisplein (13:00 – 14:00) with a colorful Bike festival.  MU, the Centre for Contemporary Art in ‘de Witte Dame’ will bring the Swedish artist/designer Anders Jakobsen, otherwise known as Lagombra to Eindhoven to construct an on-location bike roller coaster from tree-trunks, using his trademark chain saw. Finally, the European Championship for Bike Couriers will be held in which the bike messenger community gathers to find out who is the strongest, smartest or most flexible bike courier in Europe. Their gathering will take place on the 25, 26 and 27 July.

Thanks to Core77, here are some of our favorite bicycles.  The first piture is Designhuis where the exhibit took place.  Please visit Core77 to see all 100 pictures to correspond with the 100 day event:

  • Great web page. Thanks for the email and I really enjoyed spending time with the two of you. I am glad you ran into Sport. I hold him in high regard. He has both talent and integrity. I would welcome the opportunity to collaborate with your firm on a project. We seem to have the same standard of excellence. I am going to look at the project you dropped off at the booth sometime this week. Again, thanks for the email. Take Care! Katrina
